  • Long Serving Department Member David Bennett Has Passed Away

    David Wells Bennett, husband, father, philosopher, musician, and friend, passed away February 14, 2014, at the age of 87, after a long and patient battle with Parkinson's disease. He taught at the University of Utah for 30 years and was known as a voice of reason and uniter of divergent factions. A memorial service is planned on April 13, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. in the Thompson Chamber Music Hall in Gardner Hall, on President's Circle, at the University of Utah.

  • Mariam Thalos Awarded Royal Institute of Philosophy Prize for the Second Time

    For the second year in a row, Mariam Thalos was awarded the Royal Institute of Philosophy's essay prize. This year, it was for her article entitled "The Grammar of Experience." The paper will appear in the April 2014 issue of the journal Philosophy.
