Our current funding priorities include:

Scholarships

Scholarships for undergraduate students: e.g. contributions can be made to the Whisner/Appleby Scholarship Endowment. (The Whisner/Appleby scholarship fund was established in memory of our treasured colleagues, Bill Whisner and Peter Appleby. The scholarship fund is close to its goal of $75,000. The fund currently pays one $1,500 scholarship each year for Philosophy undergraduate students at the University of Utah.)

Faculty Development

Faculty development: E.g. contributions can be made to the Tanner Excellence in Philosophy Fund. (Donations to the Tanner Excellence in Philosophy Fund help support our excellent faculty in their research and scholarly efforts.)

Public Events

Support for public lectures, the annual Department colloquium, and the Intermountain Student Philosophy Conference. E.g. contributions can be made to the Rod P Dixon Endowed Lecture Fund or to the Aldrich Lecture Fund. (The Rod P. Dixon Lecture Fund pays the honorarium for one of our distinguished visiting speakers each year. The Aldrich Lecture Fund also provides honoraria for speakers plus funding for other aspects of department enrichment, including speaker travel and accommodation.)

The department welcomes contributions all our development funds. If you wish to make a contribution, please click here. If you would like to discuss other opportunities to give, please contact Morgan Stinson.
